Natural Slate Characteristics

Slate is a natural material, so small differences in colour tone, surface texture, edge shape and natural markings are normal. These variations form part of its character and mean that individual coasters may not look completely identical.

Personalise the selected set with a name, initials, meaningful date or short message. Standard text personalisation is included. Enter every detail exactly as it should be engraved, including spelling, capitalisation, punctuation and special characters.

How Is the Personalisation Applied?

• Set of 2: Use the same text on both coasters or enter different text for Coaster 1 and Coaster 2
• Set of 4: Use the same text across the complete set or enter different text for Coasters 1 to 4
• Set of 6: Use the same text across the complete set or enter different text for Coasters 1 to 6

When one design should be repeated across the complete set, submit the text once and state clearly that it applies to every coaster. When individual wording is required, assign each text clearly to its corresponding coaster number.

Shorter wording normally creates the clearest and most balanced engraving. Longer text may need to be reduced in size, divided across lines or rearranged to fit the available engraving area.

Optional Logo Engraving

Logo engraving is available as an optional add-on. You can add one logo to the complete selected set, with the same approved logo used across all included coasters.

Upload one clear logo file. SVG, AI and EPS files are preferred. A clear, high-resolution PNG with a transparent background is also accepted. The engraving is produced in a single tone, so colours, shadows, gradients and extremely fine details may need to be simplified.

If the supplied artwork cannot be prepared within the standard logo service, we will contact you before engraving. Different logos, complex artwork and requests outside the available product options must be submitted through Custom Projects & Bespoke Orders.

The Design Proof is a digital layout preview rather than a photograph of the finished coasters. It confirms the proposed design and placement but cannot reproduce the exact texture, tone, edge shape or natural markings of each slate piece. Once the approved design has been engraved, the personalisation cannot be changed on the finished product.

• Wipe each engraved natural slate coaster with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
• Dry the coaster thoroughly after cleaning.
• Do not place the slate coasters in the dishwasher.
• Do not soak them in water or leave them exposed to prolonged moisture.
• Avoid abrasive pads, hard brushes and aggressive cleaning products.
• Lift each coaster when moving it rather than dragging it across a delicate surface.

How the Text Personalisation Works

Standard text engraving is included with the selected set. You can repeat the same approved design across every coaster or assign individual wording to numbered coasters.

Logo engraving produces a single-tone result, so colours, shadows, gradients and extremely fine details may need to be converted into a simplified single-tone design. The approved design is engraved directly into the natural slate rather than added as an ordinary printed graphic, sticker or removable vinyl layer. The engraving creates a contrasting finish against the dark anthracite surface.

Care and Cleaning

Clean the engraved slate coasters by hand with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry them thoroughly afterwards. Do not place them in the dishwasher or leave them soaking in water. Avoid abrasive materials and aggressive cleaning products.
