Natural Slate Characteristics

Slate is a natural material, so small differences in colour tone, surface texture and natural markings are normal. These variations form part of its character and mean that individual coasters may not look completely identical.

Personalise each whisky glass and matching slate coaster with a name, initials, meaningful date or short message. Enter every detail exactly as it should be engraved, including spelling, capitalisation, punctuation and special characters.

How Is the Personalisation Applied?

• 1 Glass + 1 Coaster: One text is engraved on both the glass and matching coaster
• 2 Glasses + 2 Coasters: Use the same text across the complete set or enter different text for Pair 1 and Pair 2

Each numbered pair consists of one whisky glass and its matching slate coaster. Unless stated otherwise in the Special Instructions, the same text is applied to both pieces within that pair.

If the glass and coaster within one pair require different wording, explain the request clearly in the Special Instructions. The proposed arrangement will be shown in your Design Proof before engraving.

Shorter wording normally creates the clearest and most balanced result. Longer text may need to be reduced in size or rearranged to fit the available engraving areas on both materials.

You can add one logo to the complete selected set by choosing the optional logo engraving add-on. The same logo will be used across all whisky glasses and matching slate coasters included in that set.

Upload one clear logo file. If the artwork is unsuitable for the standard logo service, we will contact you before production. Different logos, complex artwork and orders requiring more than four pairs must be submitted through Custom Projects & Bespoke Orders.

The Design Proof is a digital layout preview rather than a photograph of the finished products. Glass and natural slate react differently to laser engraving, so the visible finish will not look identical on both materials. Once the approved design has been engraved, the personalisation cannot be changed on the finished pieces.

• The personalised whisky glass is dishwasher safe.
• Place the glass securely so that it cannot strike other glassware, cutlery or hard objects during the wash cycle.
• Avoid abrasive pads and aggressive cleaning products on the engraved surface.
• Avoid sudden temperature changes, heavy impacts and contact with hard edges.
• Stop using the glass if it becomes chipped, cracked or otherwise damaged.

Slate Coaster Care

• Wipe the engraved natural slate coaster with a soft, slightly damp cloth.
• Dry the coaster after cleaning.
• Do not place the slate coaster in the dishwasher.
• Do not soak it in water or leave it exposed to prolonged moisture.
• Avoid abrasive materials and aggressive cleaning products.
• Lift the coaster when moving it rather than dragging it across a delicate surface.

4 Glasses + 4 Coasters

The four-pair set is suited to home bars, hosts, families, friendship groups and shared celebrations. Each pair can carry its own name or message while retaining a coordinated overall appearance.

How the Text Personalisation Works

Each numbered pair contains one whisky glass and one matching slate coaster. The text entered for that pair is engraved on both pieces unless another arrangement is clearly requested in the Special Instructions.

• Same text on every piece: One approved design is repeated across all glasses and coasters
• Different text for each pair: Each glass-and-coaster pair receives its own name, initials, date or short message

When different wording is required on the glass and coaster within one pair, explain it clearly in the Special Instructions. The arrangement must remain suitable for the available engraving areas and will be shown in the Design Proof.

What Can Be Engraved?

Short wording normally produces the clearest result on both the curved glass surface and the square slate coaster.

Optional Logo Engraving

You can add one logo to the complete selected set through the optional logo engraving add-on. The same logo will be engraved across all whisky glasses and matching slate coasters included in that set.

SVG, AI and EPS files are preferred. A clear, high-resolution PNG with a transparent background is also accepted. Logo engraving produces a single-tone result, so colours, shadows and gradients are adapted to a suitable engraving version. The proposed placement will be shown in the Design Proof.

If the supplied file cannot be prepared within the standard logo service, we will contact you before production. The add-on will either be refunded or the request will be redirected to Custom Projects & Bespoke Orders.

The Design Proof Process

3. Upload your logo when selected. Add one clear file if you have chosen the optional logo engraving service.

4. We prepare both layouts. The composition is adapted separately to the proportions of the glass and slate coaster.

5. Receive the digital Design Proof. The proposed arrangement is sent by email before engraving.

6. Review every detail. Check spelling, punctuation, layout, logo placement and the wording assigned to every pair.

7. Approve or request a small adjustment. Reply before production begins when a reasonable correction is needed.

8. Engraving begins. The approved layouts become the production reference for both materials.

Care and Cleaning

The personalised whisky glass is dishwasher safe. Place it securely so that it cannot strike other glassware, cutlery or hard objects during washing.

Clean the engraved slate coaster separately by hand with a soft, slightly damp cloth and dry it afterwards. Do not place it in the dishwasher or leave it soaking in water.

After Design Proof approval, the glasses and corresponding slate coasters are engraved, individually inspected, matched and carefully packed in our Antwerp atelier.
